NITROvox is the a cappella vocal wing of Nitro. NITROvox have been working together in various forms since 2000 and are currently a collection of top professional singers from the worlds of opera, jazz, soul and musical theatre.
Led by Nitro’s Musical Director Allyson Devenish, NITROvox have performed as part of Nitro’s productions, most notably in An African Cargo and An Evening of Soul Food. They have also played concerts and guest performances in many venues, in particular for the live transmission of the inauguration of President Barack Obama at the Bernie Grant Centre. Most recently, NITROvox performed to great acclaim in the BBC R4 production of “Jubilee Singers” by Adrian Mitchell, about the great American negro choir The Fisk Jubilee Singers.
